Stop Motion Update

The stop motion is going very well. I am excited to see the all the frames compiled together. There are a few bumps but other that that it looks great. The main problems we are finding are accidentally nudging the camera and figuring out cool morphing animations to use between the keys.

We decided to switch one creature to be replaced by an octopus. This gave us a good connection with the slug in the beginning. Both are slimy and squirm around.

We decided on the name "Catalyst: Trial 8" for the animation

Count Down

A Count Down animation created by Sebastian, Michael, and I. We used the program Dragonframes. It is a great program, although we learned that we need to completely wait for shutter to close before we continue to move to next frame.

Stop Motion Animation references

The Eagleman Stag -- http://vimeo.com/41756240

how it was made - http://vimeo.com/19848986

This Stop Motion animation is made entirely from foam. It is completely white and black and relies on shadows. The link above is a short 30 sec video of how they made the set.

The Rifle's Spiral -- http://www.booooooom.com/2012/04/18/the-shins-music-video-%E2%80%9Cthe-rifle%E2%80%99s-spiral%E2%80%9D-by-jamie-caliri/

The stop motion is for the music video for the Shin's song The Rifle's Spiral. It is a dark animation that reminds me of Tim Burton's style. It seems to be made with wooden puppets.

Sorry I'm Late -- http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=PgpRz3RHJMw

Sorry I'm Late is a short animation made on the floor. The animation consists of a action figure running on an adventure. The style is very simple and seems be easy to do.
